Introducing:
The rapid advances in the field of micro-electronics coupled with
careful research into the requirements of prospective and existing clients have
enabled us to develop a range of electronic People Counters that fulfil the
needs and expectations of even the most demanding companies and organisations.
Our commitment to produce and supply quality products that are also simple to
operate and install continues to reinforce Q-Scan's reputation for performance
and reliability.
Whether you are
looking for a basic daily count or if you need a more detailed breakdown of
your figures, with the added bonus of being able to download the recorded data
to your PC, our range of models are designed to meet your requirements at
affordable prices. |
Operation principal: The counter units transmit
rapidly pulsed InfraRed beams to a prismatic reflector disk, which returns the
beams to the receivers thereby creating a harmless and invisible light barrier.
Q-Scan counters are available in single or twin beam configurations and, as
both the transmitters and receivers are located in the counter units, only one
single power source is required to drive the system.
The single beam systems will count a person
every time that person crosses the beam regardless of the direction of approach
whereas with the twin beam systems the user can select a preferred counting
direction. If a person breaks a beam, the on-board microprocessor analyses the
sequence of events and carries out calculations based on user selected
parameters before sending the result to the memory chip. The non-volatile
memory chip requires no batteries and any stored data remains intact even if
the power supply is interrupted. |
Records:
All our counters feature the 6-line x 16 character
LCD display for viewing the recorded data and a USB port for downloading data to a laptop.
This means that import several year's worth of count data for further analysis with spreadsheets or other
comparable software.
Several of our more advanced models also feature a network interface for connecting to a RECAP system.

 |
Q-Scan products are suitable for operation around the
globe and are supplied world wide direct from our works. Each counter is
thoroughly inspected and quality tested before they are individually packaged
together with all the necessary accessories in a purpose made foam-padded
container. |
Power Supply:
All Q-scan Counters are shipped with
a regulated power supply that provides the required 12Volt DC to drive the
equipment. They are available in 3 pin UK, 2 pin European and 2 pin North
American style with approximately 1.5 meter long leads and plug directly into a
suitable mains electricity supply.

Operating Distance: The maximum operating distance between the counter and reflector is
factory set at 5 meters. It is possible to extend the operating distance of the
single beam units by 1.5 meters with the addition of a second reflector.
Installation: Installing the equipment is simple and requires no special skills. 2
keyholes in the base unit and a single hole through the centre of the reflector
are provided for fixing purposes. |
System
Alignment: The counter units feature alignment indicators that are initially
used for setting the system up and then serve as warning indicators to alert
the user of any alignment problems that may have occurred.
Single
Beam: The single
beam systems will count a person every time that person crosses the beam
regardless of the direction of approach. They are therefore best suited for
locations with a single entrance or locations with multiple entrances where it
is irrelevant whether an access point is being used as an entrance or an
exit.
Twin Beam:
The twin beam systems are
ideal for monitoring corridors and passages or locations with multiple access
points where there is a need to distinguish between in-coming and out-going
traffic.
User Preferences: A number of preferences can be selected by the
user to control Counter functions including leg or body counting, automatic
divide by 2, Reset inhibit etc. The chosen preferences may be changed at
anytime even after installation. |
Enclosures:
The counter casings are manufactured
from durable ABS and have an attractive textured finish. They are of a two-part
construction and are internally coated with nickel screening for compliance
with regulations on EMC emissions.
Essentially designed for indoor use only the counter units may, in
certain circumstances and assuming that appropriate and adequate protection
against all elements is provided, be sited outdoors.
