The Q-Scan
software is a simple to use communications package for sending instructions to
the counter and controlling data downloads from the counter to a PC. Used in
conjunction with standard spreadsheets or similar software it represents one of
the most commanding means of producing statistics that can be analysed and
represented with the help of graphs and charts.

Counter
Set-up From the counter set-up menu
the user can alter the counter identification number, enter a new date or
change the time, choose a number that represents each day of the week and also
clear the contents of the memory.
Auto
Adjust This feature ensures
that subsequent downloads replicate previously saved download preferences but
the download period, as defined by the two dates, will advance in line as the
date changes.
Download
Preferences In order to eliminate
the need for discarding unwanted data if a partial download is desired, the
download menu allows the user to set download preferences. The preferences are
set by choosing a download period that lies between two dates or two hours of
the day, all or any of the weekday numbers or even a combination of the above.
These entered preferences can be saved for later use.
Data
Folder The user can specify a
folder in which the downloaded file is to be saved. The default file name,
which is based on the date of the download for example 03Jun02.csv, and the
file extension can be changed before each download.
File
Viewing A feature for viewing the
currently active or a previously saved file. A useful feature to quickly check
that a file contains all the required data.
